2023 VICTORIAN COUNTRY TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS_DVAC RESULTS

Nineteen DVAC athletes (14 Women & 5 Men) journeyed to Geelong to take part in the 2023 Victorian Country Championships. The Valley athletes collected a total of 19 medals for the weekend – 7 Gold, 5 Silver and 1 Bronze. The medals awarded were Invitational as it was a Country Championship.

AV SPECIALIST MEETS_JANUARY ROUNDUP

January has been action packed with two rounds of AVSL, Championships and a raft of specialist meets. Here are the results of Meet 3 of three of the Specialist meets.

COMPETITION IN PREMIER DIVISION HEATS UP IN AVSL RD 8

Three clubs posting a total score over 50,000 points was an indication that the competition in Round 8 was getting serious with the finals just around the corner. DVAC finished in third place but remains on top of the season ladder. The Women Under 16 & Men 40+ win their Division for the round.

ASHER ANDREWS WINS MEDAL FOR DECATHLON & COURAGE

Asher Andrews is a hugely talented all-round athlete who placed third in the Victorian Men Under 18 Decathlon Championship at Bendigo on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 January 2023. The story behind his medal is quite amazing.

FIEKE VAN DER KAMP AT THE CROSS COUNTRY SELECTION TRIALS

DVAC athlete, Fieke Van Der Kamp is waiting on a possible call up to compete in the World Cross Country Championships to be held in Bathurst on Saturday 18 February 2023. This follows her great run at the 2023 Australian Cross Country Selection Trials where the finished in 6th position.

Victorian Milers Club, Meet #2

Big night of racing at the VMC #2 held at Box Hill on Thursday 22 December 2022. After an unlikely start, the weather cleared up for great conditions to race in. 41 races held in 800m and 1500m events with 538 athletes taking part. DVAC was well represented with 16 athletes.

AVSL ROUND 7 DVAC RESULTS; ZATOPEK MEET; STEIGEN POLE VAULT

It's been a busy week at the Valley. Fieke Van Der Kamp & Elyssia Kenshole did the Valley proud at the Zatopek 10 meet. DVAC finished in second place in Round 7 of the AVSL season. Elyssia Kenshole wins her second trophy in four days.

2022 AUSTRALIAN ALL SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Eight DVAC juniors travelled to Adelaide to compete in the 2022 Australian All Schools Track & Field Championships held from Friday 9th December to Sunday 11 December 2022. Competition was held at the brand new facilities at the SA Athletics Stadium.

AVSL RD 6 GIVES VALLEY POLE POSITION

AVSL Round 6 was held in the first spell of hot weather for the season but the Valley athletes still rose to the occasion and earned enough points to top the Premier Division ladder. The next round of AVSL at Aberfeldie prior to Christmas will be a guide to the clubs' chances in the coming Playoffs.

VALLEY ATHLETES TEAM UP AT THE AV RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

DVAC athletes gave the 2022 Victorian Relay Championships strong support on Saturday 26 November at the Box Hill venue. In all, the 51 athletes made up 20 Relay teams. The DVAC Relay teams were able to win four medals & set five new club records.

AVSL ROUND 5 DVAC RESULTS & OTHER DVAC RESULTS

It was wild & windy at Meadowglen for Round 5 of the AVSL season, but the Valley still managed to finish on top of the Premier Division ladder at the end of the day. Riley Neecowen gets his qualifier at the HVC Meet #1. Heidi Kuppler wins the national 10 Years Old 1500m Championship.

2022 VICTORIAN 5000m CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2022 Victorian 5000m Championships were held at the Box Hill venue in perfect conditions and there were many happy athletes at the end of the night. Fieke Van Der Kamp claimed the silver medal in the Women Under 20 5000m Victorian Championships, setting a new club record in the process.

AVSL RD 4 AND THE VALLEY POWERS UP

The Power Play was a gamble & while DVAC had to settle for second place to Eaglehawk, the mighty effort put up by the Valley athletes was outstanding. For the 3rd round in succession, DVAC scored over 50,000 points. There definitely was a 'Green Wave' at Doncaster.

DVAC ATHLETES COMPETE AT THE ALL SCHOOLS T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS

DVAC athletes represented their schools at the Victorian All Schools Track & Field Championships, but their achievements were followed keenly at the Valley. In all, there were 29 DVAC junior athletes in action at Lakeside. National records as well as club records were set.

VALLEY SHINES AFTER THE RAIN - AVSL RD 3 2022

After the rain cleared up the Diamond Valley Athletic Club came out to compete in AVSL Rd 3. At the end of the day, the Valley was on top of the Premier Division ladder thanks to the efforts of the 79 athletes who took part in the competition.

AVSL RD 2: TOP EFFORT BY THE VALLEY

Round 2 of the 2022_2023 AVSL season saw the Valley surge to the top of the Ladder in the Premier Division. For many of the junior athletes it was a chance to home their event before the coming Victorian All Schools Championships.

VALLEY MAKES A GREAT START TO THE NEW SEASON OF TRACK & FIELD

The AVSL season of Track & Field got under way on Saturday 8 October and the Diamond Valley Athletic Club had a strong turnout of athletes happy to be back in action. By the end of competition, DVAC was second on the Premier League ladder and looking forward to another great season.
