About:
I have been associated with DVAC since the late 1980’s. This involvement includes: Competing in middle, distance and cross country events for many years. Registrar and committee positions including present. Accredited Coach of middle and distance events at DVAC. I am proud to be a member of a Coaching Team co-ordinated by Max Balchin that nurtures athletes to be the very best that they can be. As teachers and coaches we strive to provide an environment that is inclusive of all abilities, gender and age. Our large squad is ably managed due to understanding of the athletes’ needs and goals, creative and detailed programs and focus on ‘growing’ the young person. For many years the strength of this squad has been in the connections made between the athletes and their support of one another in training, competing and socially. Preparation and pathways to compete at Athletics Victoria events, National and even international competitions are supported and encouraged. The size of the Squad is determined by the DVAC community needs. There is no coaching fee charged for athletes who are competing financial members of DVAC. Training is conducted Tuesday and Thursday from 4:45 until 7:00pm at Willinda. (May include later times for specific needs.) Additional coaching sessions are held away from Willinda on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings and as needs arise.
Qualification: 
Level 3 Advanced Event Group Coach
Training Times:
5:00pm on Tuesday & Thursday at Willinda Park centre
5:00pm on Wednesday at Lower Eltham Park
8:00am on Saturday at Norris Bank Park (Summer) or Bundoora Park (Winter)
Fees:
Club Coach – There is no coaching fee charged for athletes who are financial members of DVAC.

  Matt Thompson

About:
I bought a dog and I started running. I found I liked it and then ran half marathon, marathon, ultramarathon and many other distances. I found a love of running and want to share it. The discipline(s) coached are Middle and Long distance. Ultramarathons.I like to work with athletes on their pathway from novice to elite. Love to work with people who just want to get off the couch as well as people who love the sport. I can help with race nutrition, tactics, and mindset as well as help create training plans. I share a squad with Max Balchin and Lyn Davis and can work with people of all ages and all abilities. My philosophy is to have fun, enjoyment, maximise time and quality and for you to push your limits with others in a squad.
Qualification: 
AA Level 1 coach
Training Times:
5:00pm – 6:45pm on Thursday at Willinda Park centre. Can look at running groups for long runs on weekends as well for those wanting to.

About:
Our Training Squad welcomes new members. The group covers all age groups from Under 14 to Open age. Training sessions aim to improve the running form & technique of each athlete as well as to develop their ability to perform to their best level at their chosen event. Our goal is to foster the personal development of each athlete as well as the confidence to enjoy exploring the competitive elements that the sport has to offer. The Training Squad does encourage athletes to enjoy working in a group environment and encourages the friendships & loyalties that grow from that setting. There is a panel of Coaches that works with the Training Squad in a collaborative and supportive manner.
Qualification:
Level 1V IAAF Coach: Middle & Long Distance
Level 1V ATFCA Coach: Middle & Long Distance & Steeplechase.
Training Times:
5:00pm on Tuesday & Thursday at Willinda Park centre
