DVAC RESULTS ROUND-UP:
VIC MILERS CLUB - MEET #3
VALLEY MIDDLE DISTANCE TEAM ENJOY A NIGHT OUT
Sixteen DVAC Middle Distance runners (6 Female & 10 Male) had successful competition at the VMC #3 meet at Doncaster on Tuesday 20 January. Almost half of the results showed up as personal best times or season best times.
Caden Murray (MOpen) sliced three seconds off his previous best time for the 1500m when he crossed in 3:51.69. This puts Caden only 1.69 second off the qualifying time for the 2026 Nationals.
Cameron Ellis (M20) lowered his personal best time for the 1500m by 4 seconds when he finished in 4:04.21. Felix Morgan (M18) lowered his time for the 1500m to 4:30.90 while Myles Boyle (M16) was right on his best time with a 4:26.54.
Jesse Mayne (FOpen) and Erin Maloney (F20) continued their series of season best times. At the Milers Club, Jesse finished in 4:50.74 and Erin finished in 5:09.97.
Matilda Johnson (F16) stepped up to run in the top heat of the Female 800m and acquitted herself admirably. Matilda completed the two laps in 2:15.71.
Any Conley (F16) ran her first 800m and completed the journey in 2:32.04. Teammate, Isabella Napoletano (F16) came in close behind in a personal best time of 2:32.69.
Thomas Short (M18) was just behind his own best time when he finished the 800m in 1:57.82. Samuel Reeve (M16) 2:02.79 and Kai Bunyard (M16) 2:07.94 are both getting back to their best times for the 800m.

2026 Victorian Country Athletics Championships

VALLEY ATHLETES CROSS THE BORDER TO COMPETE
Five DVAC athletes competed in the 2026 Victorian Country Athletics Championships held in Albury over the Australia Day weekend. The five athletes won a total of 11 medals (Invitational) between them and gained valuable experience at Championship level the will stand them in good stead for the Victorian Championships on Friday 13 February.
Dillon Vidanapathirana (T20) had a highly successful meet collecting Gold in the 100m & 200m as well as Silver in the 400m in the Male Ambulant events.
Zoe Ryan lowered her time for the 2000m Steeplechase to 8:50.70. Zoe threw the Hammer 35.82m to win the F18 age group.
Wilson Riley (M18) was the best performed athlete in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 43.43m.
Elliot Williams (M18) won Silver in the High Jump (1.60m) and the Triple Jump (11.72m).
William Quigley (M18) lowered his best time for the 3000m by 8 seconds when he crossed the finish line in 9:22.03 to win Bronze.

CAPITOL SUCCESS FOR JORDAN & KIRRA
The results posted by Jordan Rudd (T20) and Kirra Wight (T36) should convince other athletes that the ACT U20 & Open Athletics Championships are well worth including in their competition plans. The Championships offer a high standard of competition across all events.
Jordan Rudd recorded a high level of performance across four events, the 200m, 400m, 800m & 1500m. He won three Silver and one Bronze medal.
Kirra Wright won the F20 200m and Shot Put and was second in the 100m. In the Shot Put, Kirra recorded a new Personal Best distance of 8.46m.

ROSEBUD AUSTRALIA DAY FUN RUN

CADEN MURRAY LEADS THE WAY TO ROSEBUD
Caden Murray led the field in the Rosebud Australia Day 10km Fun Run from start to finish and crossed the finish line in 31:04. Caden was over a minute ahead of the second placed runner.
Oskar Jacobson (M14) covered the 5.3km Fun Run in 20:19 to place second in the Under 17 age group.
