AVSL RD 3 2026 DVAC RESULTS

The Diamond Valley Athletic Club scored 43,401 Shield points in Round 3 of the 10 round season to place second on the Premier Division table for the day. The total of 69 DVAC athletes (34 Female & 35 Male) turned out for the round, with the largest number competing at Aberfeldie. For the track athletes, the competition was strong but the strong headwind down the home straight made for times that were often unflattering.

Going in to Round 4, Diamond Valley remains in a position to challenge for the 2026/2027 Premier Division flag despite sitting in third position on the table. At this stage Eaglehawk are on top with 35 points, Ballarat Harriers are second on 29 points and Diamond Valley are in third place on 28 points. Both Eaglehawk & Ballarat Harriers have employed their Powerplay (that doubles the points won for that Round) while DVAC will use the Powerplay in Round 4. To maximize the Powerplay it is important for the DVAC family gets behind the club next Saturday. That way we might turn 10 points into 20 points.

VALLEY AGE GROUPS IN ROUND 3:

Female teams:

Open Female: 2nd (3708pts): 7 out of 16 athletes competed in Rd 3 producing the third highest score out of all the DVAC Age Group teams. Elyssia Kenshole led the MVA points tally with 813 gained through 3.80m Pole Vault & an 11.00m Triple Jump.

Female 20: 2nd (2.214pts): If 2 athletes can finish in 2nd place what could the DVAC total of 6 F20 athletes do? Phoebe Reed (1,192pts) and Vanessa Smith (917pts) are amazing athletes but they need a hand for our Powerplay. Every point counts.

Female 18: 1st (4,811pts): 8 out of the 12 member DVAC team continue to work their magic. Massive score. Pb’s to Isabella Napoletano in the 200m (31.26); Zoey Ryan in the 800m (2:35.88); Liv Nicholls in the Hammer Throw (12.93m); & Arianna Krebs in the Hammer Throw (28.65m) and the Shot Put (9.84m).

Female 16: 16th (2,448pts): 4 out of the 12 member team show their athletic talent in Rd 3. Jamie Ritchie won the top Heat of the 200m by 100th second after a thrilling come from behind finish. Talise Botha posts 1,124 MVA points with her 14.02 100m; 15.83 90m Hurdles; 13.44m Javelin & 4.47m Long Jump. Isabella Evans posts a pb in the 200m (31.26) and rings the bell!

Female 14: 13th (2,437pts): 6 out of the 14 member team. A fantastic team in the making and for the 6 young athletes to accumulate 2,437pts was just a sign of their talent. How Aria-Rose Cerqueira (27:03) and Chelsea King (29.50) pb’d the 200m into that headwind was amazing. Ruby Somers (2:48.27) ripped 12 seconds off her previous pb for the 800m. Georgia Walters lowered her time for the 2000m Walk to 10:05.0.

Female 40: 2nd (2,049pts): With Kate Ryan restricted to Throws events due to injury, Victoria Lindores taking a week off, Waverley-Malvern seized the opportunity to inflict a rare defeat for this Valley winning machine. Still, there was only 62 points in it.

Female 50: 3rd (2,476pts): 3 out of the 4 team members did an outstanding job in coming third on the day. Gaelyne Kenshole amassed 1,169 points to head the table for F55-59 across the state. Gaelyne set a new club record for the Shot Put (7.91m). Maryann Murray sent the Hammer out for 19.87m to pb.

Female 60: 10th (1,015pts):

This one member team called Michelle King placed 10th in the F60 age group. Michelle was in a mood to set new club records in the 200m (36.13); 800m (3:21.18) and the Hammer (18.83m). What a day! Ps: Come back, Jo Moxon!

Male Teams:

Open Male: 10th (2,335pts): 4 athletes out of a possible 15. Many were involved in a great Valley winter season, but can we make a special plea for a return to action next Saturday for the Valley Powerplay! James Hurley, Jesse Littlehales, Caden Murray and Jordan Rudd did extremely well to drag the team to 10th place for Round 3.

Male 20: 26th (321pts): Rhodri Whelan was the sole athlete of the seven member team. Rhodri’s 9:46.14 for the 3000m was scored at 306 MVA points & that was the team score!

Male 18: 3rd (6,238pts): The highest scoring DVAC team in Round 3 shows how competitive the M18 Age Group is when 6,238pts comes third! Ten members of the 18 strong team compete in Round 3. Zander Botha heads to DVAC MVA table for Round 3 with 1,196pts. Zander pb’d in the 100m (11.68), Long Jump (5.85m) and 400m (50.73). Lots of other pb’s with this team, including: James D’Antonio (23.67) and Charlie Cooper (23.81) in the 200m; Walter Somers (2:18.18) in the 800m; Wilson Riley (44.16m) with the Hammer & (10.92m) in the Shot Put; and Chehan Udugampala in the Hammer Throw (47.53m).

Male 16: 15th (2,096pts): There were 6 athletes who scored points to place the team in 15th place. Imagine if the other 9 athletes could compete! A super competitive age group! Pb’s to Oskar Jacobson in the 800m (2:18.91) and Gabriel Kozaris in the Hammer Throw (38.56m)

Male 14: 9th(2,231pts): 4 of the 11 member team competing in Round 3: A healthy score for the day. Jett Hollingsworth posted new best times in both the 400m (66.35) and the 1500m (4:42.26). Sebastian Botha ran the 2000m Steeple for the first time (9:28.6) and pb’s with the Javelin (21.76m). Jacob Guyett and Tommi Rowe completed the team.

Male 40: 2nd (2,231pts): This was a really good day at the office for the M40 team with a 2nd place on the table. Still only 4 athletes from a team total of 11. Justin Botha posted new best results in the 400m (63.56) with the Javelin (28.52m). Arunan Arumainayagam had a pb with the Hammer Throw (22.89m). Cyrus Wong covered the 200m, 800m, 3000m & Triple Jump.

Male 50: 5th (2,719pts): Matt Hall’s return was the best news for the M50 team. Darren Corden flew down the home straight to win his heat of the 200m. Adam Scott set a new pb with the Shot Put (6.86m). Lalith Udugampala has returned from the World Masters in fine form.

Male 60: 4th (2,442pts): The battle of the giants, Jeff Young and Lyal Douglas, in the 200m was pure magic with Lyal prevailing in 32.78. Greg Luck looks better with each passing week. Bruce Wood is a class act in the Throws events. Three M60 athletes out this Round.
