VALLEY STRENGTHS ON SHOW IN AVSL RD 2
The Diamond Valley Athletic Club was out in force at the Doncaster venue for Round 2 of the AVSL 2025/2026 season. The Green & Gold singlets were dominant around the venue with a total of 78 athletes (33 Female & 45 Male) competing (4 @ the Casey venue). The Valley tents were a hive of activity throughout the day and the PB bell was heard at regular intervals. DVAC athletes scored a total of 49936 points for the Round, and this put the club in second place on the ladder for Round 2 in the Premiership Division.
In the race for AVSL Age Group Premierships, three DVAC teams topped the scores for their division. These were the Female Under 20, Female 40+ and Female 50+ teams. The DVAC team to earn the highest score for the Round was the Men Under 16 line-up of 14 athletes who amassed a total of 8788 points for the day. The Female Under 20 team earned 5297 points and the Male U18 team were the third most prolific points earners with 5046 points.
If it seemed like the DVAC club had a youthful edge, the observation is backed by an examination of the scores for the day. The DVAC Underage teams (U20 down to U14), scored a total of 28804 points in Round 2 and contributed 57% of the total score for the Valley.
