VALLEY ATHLETES “SURVIVE” THE VIC ALL SCHOOLS

The forecast was for a wet weekend and the forecast was correct. The conditions for athletes at the 2026 Victorian All Schools Track & Field Championships were extremely difficult for the first three days of competition with continual rain. Amazingly the Championships continued through all the challenging conditions and were completed by Sunday afternoon. Without the commitment of athletes, and the support of parents, officials and club helpers this outcome would not have been achieved.

There were 40 members of the Diamond Valley Athletic Club (19 females & 21 males) who competed across the four days of the Championships. The athletes were representing a total of 22 schools. The competing athletes at these Championships were representing their school, but DVAC support was provided across the weekend by coaches, and Club Helpers.

For most athletes, the Championships came early in their season and offered a chance to test out their winter preparation and their current levels of performance. There were plenty of pb’s, thrilling races, as well as outstanding achievements in the field events. Bring on the Summer season of athletics starting with the AVSL Rd 1 on Saturday October 17th.
